DIAGNOSTIC OF THE AREA:
The Community of Yugsiche Alto is located in the north west of Cotopaxi Province, the road is paved and of earth, it iheight on 3300 m.s.n.m. its topography is irregular, it possesses sandy frank lands. For irrigation they have water for aspersion, what facilitates the installation and the maintenance of thegrass
This Community was formed a group of 18 women. They work with FEDICE from the year 2000 in projects of guinea pigs and cattle for milk.
The women are devoted to agricultural activities among them: production of vegetables, potato, beans, barley, pasture and raising domestic animals. For example guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs, cows, sheep. In all of the projects that FEDICE worked the women were very responsible. They fulfilled with all of the FEDICE policies and requirements and agreements.
The women organization met FEDICE to analyze a new proposal. They decided to start new project to purchase milkmaids cows of better genetic quality and better production. With this project will be in conditions to sale milk. To produce yogurt, to make chesses
JUSTIFICACIÓN:
The group of women of Yugsiche Alto justifies carrying out this new project because they have demonstrated responsibility in handling previous projects according to the institutional policies.
They are in the possibility to process the milk in different ways to give added value to their milk production and to improved their revenues.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:
- To improve the women organizational,
- To improve their economic income giving added value to the milk production
- To create work sources, to avoid migration.
- To improve the population's nutrition
- To assure the feeding of the bovine planting improved grasses in each pieces of the family land.
- To improve the technical and practical work in handling the upbringing of cattle and the transformation of the milk to guarantee the production and the industrialization of it.
GOALS:
- To empower the Yugsiche Alto women organization
- To provide more technical and practical work for raising the animals.
- To create work sources through the micro-enterprise.
- To have cows milkmaids to produce from 15 to 20 litters of milk per day to assure the production and industrialization.
- To guarantee a better feeding of the bovine livestock improving pasture and balance food.
- To start with specialized training to handling the micro-enterprise and the milk industrialization
- To buy 16 cows in perfect state of health, with good productive and reproductive characteristics
- To visit one or two places where they process the milk in small level.
- To learn techniques and practices how to process the milk.
